House Rules

The story

Dad flies out on business, and his son comes home from college to a whole week alone with Veronica, his father's wife. She welcomes him warmly, then explains her house rules: first, follow her every command; second, no calling his girlfriend. He has a girlfriend, he reminds her more than once. She has the hot tub bubbling regardless. By episode 2 the list has grown, and one new line says he can't pretend he missed what he heard the night before. Then his girlfriend arrives, and Veronica sees no reason to let her slow things down.

Where the heat comes from

Rules are the tease: a commanding stepmother who writes them as she goes, a girlfriend who's nearly at the door and a father who's only a phone call away. In the free episodes, orders and temptation are as far as it goes.

Who it suits

If a commanding stepmom with a growing list of rules is your type, this is her house, and he's losing the argument with himself.
