My Stepmom Needs A Plus One

The story

His father is stuck at work again, and his stepmom Amanda isn't walking into her gala alone. She pulls him away from a video game, puts him in his dad's suit and gives him a role: plus one, husband for the night. At the party everyone assumes they're a couple, congratulates them on two happy years and admires how he looks at her. He insists it was all acting. She counts how many times he stared. Then she reveals the hotel room Dad booked for the two of them, and Dad isn't coming. Episode 2 keeps the act going: she tells him his words and his stares disagree and reminds him that husbands help with dresses.

Where the heat comes from

She's his stepmom, the room is booked in his father's name and the whole party believes the lie. The thrill is how convincingly they play pretend. Free episodes keep to stares, a borrowed suit and a few loaded lines.
