The story
Jack's girlfriend Riley can't wait for him to meet her stepmother, Regina, whom she hasn't seen in two years. Riley arrives glowing, gushing about her college workload and how good Jack has been lately. Regina arrives equally warm, notices what a strong boyfriend Riley has landed, and doesn't pretend not to. Someone suggests dancing. In episode 2 a spill becomes a private emergency: Regina needs help with the damage, Jack is asked to lend a hand, and the two of them end up behind a door. Then Riley comes looking, and somebody bolts.
Where the heat comes from
A boyfriend, a stepmother and a family party that provides endless excuses: a dance, a spill, a quick errand. The pull is the near miss. Free episodes keep to teasing, side glances and one very badly timed interruption.
Who it suits
For fans of the stepmom-with-a-wink setup who like a party full of cover stories and a boyfriend stuck in the crossfire.
