The story
Jake is out of work, out of savings and out of time: the notice gives him until Friday. Vanessa, his landlady, quits pretending she stopped by for the money. She can have him gone by the weekend, or they can work out an arrangement. He takes it, and a month of rent vanishes from the ledger. A week later he meets Mia, Vanessa's daughter, who has guessed exactly how he's paying and wants the same terms, or her mother hears about it. Episode 2 makes it messier: Mia announces it's her turn, Vanessa keeps texting, and Jake ends up with two landladies who each think she's the only one, with Mom right downstairs.
Where the heat comes from
The heat here is leverage. Vanessa holds the lease, Mia holds the secret, and Jake holds nothing but a front door that keeps opening. Both free episodes stay with hints and deals struck in hallways; the rest is paid.
Who it suits
Best if you enjoy a landlady with all the leverage and a tenant sweating through every knock on the door.
