The Open House

The story

Ben and Emily tour the house that could be their first home, and the realtor takes charge. Emily heads for the kitchen to take notes while the realtor leads Ben upstairs, her voice as light as the listing. She praises the bright windows and, in the same breath, the bedroom's lock, then asks how long the two of them have been married, wonders aloud whether the honeymoon is over, and offers him a different viewing: the bedroom she only shows to husbands. In episode 2, Emily is on the other side of that door and the knob won't turn for her. Ben panics politely, the realtor doesn't, and the open house gets more open.

Where the heat comes from

A wife one door away is the whole game. Each locked handle and each cheerful call from the other side raises the pressure, and the free episodes play it like a bedroom-viewing comedy, flirty and constantly interrupted.

Who it suits

A pick for cheating-risk comedies, suburban settings and the suspense of a spouse who could appear any second.
