The story
Rory won't be home until Friday, so he asks the friend with the van to get his mother Amanda moved out after her divorce. She's had a hard year, Rory says, so look after her. Amanda, meanwhile, notices her son's friend has grown up, and she starts a game of keep or toss among two decades of household stuff. A house viewing is ten minutes away, buyers are waiting downstairs, and Amanda leads her helper into Rory's old bedroom. Rory calls to ask how she's holding up. Episode 2 is her own bedroom, the sale closing Friday, a visitor named Tamsin eyeing his hands, and Amanda admitting that in two decades nobody made her feel wanted.
Where the heat comes from
The pull is a woman closing a chapter and choosing what to keep, with her son's voice crackling through the phone and a house with a deadline. The free episodes never get past glances, hints and sealed boxes.
Who it suits
Good for anyone who likes a warm, confident, newly single woman who knows what she wants, and a helper trying hard to stay polite.
