Courtney's Secret

The story

He wants a fresh start in a new city and lands a rental that's perfect, including the landlord's wife, Courtney, who catches him enjoying the view and isn't remotely offended. Her husband Jamie is warm, loud and generous, promising that the neighborhood looks after its own, especially newcomers. A bit of soap, a lingering apology, and our guy decides he's met a lonely woman stuck with the wrong man. A narrator hints he has it backwards. In episode 2 a neighbor named Nicole drops by, says Courtney has told her everything about him, and needs a hand with a tech problem while Jamie is at work. Then come iced tea and a tattoo with a story.

Where the heat comes from

It's a slow squeeze. A hospitable husband, a wife who's a little too friendly and a street where everyone is helpful in a way that feels rehearsed. The free part runs on lingering looks, borrowed tools and a glass of iced tea.

Who it suits

For viewers who like a slow reveal and a pinch of danger with their flirting, and don't mind being the last to catch on.
