I Picked Up a Hitchhiker

The story

It's an empty desert highway, he's driving a rattling pickup, and a gorgeous stranger is stuck at the roadside. He assumes women like her never ride with guys like him. She climbs in anyway and announces she abandoned her boyfriend at a fuel stop miles back, then amends that to ex. The sun is brutal, the nearest motel is forty miles ahead, and she's the one who decides they're both stopping there. One room left. He starts to propose alternatives, and she waves them off. Episode 2 delivers a lousy motel, a shower and a furious phone call with the ex, who gets told they're finished. Afterward she asks the nice guy for a towel and, twice, to come closer.

Where the heat comes from

Pure road-trip tension: two strangers, one room, a bold woman who sets the pace and an average guy who can't believe his luck. The free episodes stop at flirting and a towel.

Who it suits

Ideal if you want a desert-highway mood, a slow-burn meet-cute and a heroine who knows exactly what she wants.
