The story
Brooke is a pro wrestler who can't afford another bad night. Then she steps through the ropes and her opponent tells her, right to her face, that she's been paid to finish Brooke tonight. The result is booked, so all Brooke can do is fight back anyway. Episode 2 opens on the three-count going Brooke's way, and she demands to know why the woman who took the money ignored the plan. The price, apparently, wasn't high enough. A promoter steps in with a deadline: a major card is a month away, the rival has a long contract, and if she doesn't beat Brooke that night, neither of them works again.
Where the heat comes from
Enemies with a script, a ring and a clock. The ring forces them together and the booking forces them apart, so every hold gets a second meaning. Free episodes stay in the ring and the back office, heavy on stare-downs.
Who it suits
Best for sports-drama fans who want a fierce rivalry between two women that's clearly something more, and a plot with a countdown.
